Who the Hell is Jon Lockin?

You can totally skip this if you know who I am already or just… don’t really care. The information will be just as accurate. But if you’re a wise one, you’re probably asking yourself, “who is this guy that knows good comedy from a hole in the ground”. Well, I’m a comedian, producer, and marketing expert. Essentially, a self-taught entrepreneur that figured out how to barely support my full time comedy habit via production and promotion work. At least long enough to impress a professional advertising firm who hire me for my particular skills set. My biggest advantage was that I had to learn it from nothing… with less than no one to help. I’ve been producing my own shows to greater and greater success ever since. Learning how to promote with practically no budget gave me a super power. I can generate $1000 of results from $50 of advertising (under the right cirsumstances). Needless to say I’m now mostly a business consultant.  You know, a “success story” that lives in a camper, has no real savings, and works tirelessly in pursuit of a dream… but it’s worth it! Comedy has motivated me to learn so much… from web design, marketing, and graphic design, to video editing, VFX, sound engineering, lighting design, and more. I every day I push the envelope while I continue to improve my stagecraft one show/client at a time. As a comedian, I’ve built my sets from a tight 3 minutes to over an hour and a half… and got to see much of the country in the process. I’ve made friends and enemies, fans and haters, but most of all I developed a true passion for helping the performers that are in it for the right reasons. Why?! Because I know what you’re up against. I want to shorten the period of time new performers get victimized by exploitative clubs that don’t pay local comics or worse extort them for stage time. I want to help you avoid gatekeepers and cannibals that charge hundreds for classes and/or nickel and dime you for festival submissions that bleed most dry long before they EVER get a spot from it. In short, I want REAL upward mobility for all that pursue the jester’s station. If that means you then you came to the right place.
